Dear Friend...

Hi! Welcome to our blog. We are Jordan, Shawnee, Carter and Jaxon; a family of 4 who are eager to have our family grow!

We always knew we wanted to be parents and we are so grateful for the special way that we have been able to make that happen. Carter and Jaxon are the most precious gifts we have ever received and we can't imagine our family coming to be any other way.

Before we got married we had talked about what we imagined our future family to look like. We both felt like we would have 3 or 4 kids and we both had a feeling that adoption would be a part of the journey. Well after being married for several months we felt it was time to start our family. We struggled with infertility and it took a little longer than we had planned, but in 2012 we were surprised with an unexpected pregnancy. We were blessed with a healthy baby boy!

We knew that our family wasn't complete and we were excited to give Carter a little brother or sister. Once Carter turned 3 we decided to try a few fertility treatments but while we were in that process we both had a strong feeling that our next baby was supposed to come to us through the miracle of adoption. We began our new journey and tried to wait patiently. In the summer of 2016 we were connected with an amazing birth mother. We were able to spend some time with her and we all welcomed Jaxon into the world a month later. Carter was finally a big brother! We were so happy to not only welcome a new baby boy into our family, but an amazing woman who we love dearly.

Here we are again with a strong feeling that our family still isn't complete. Carter is now 6 1/2 and Jaxon is 2 1/2. Carter is ready to be a big brother again and Jaxon is ready to be a big brother for the first time. We talk to them often about having a little brother or sister and they are both so excited!

We want you to know that we already have so much love and respect for you. We cannot imagine what a challenging decision this is for you, and we pray for you daily. We hope that through this blog you will have an idea of the family that we are and the love that we have for one another.

Love,
Jordan, Shawnee, Carter & Jaxon

About Us...

We were both born and raised in Utah. We met at a mutual friend's house at what we called "a lawn chair party." Jordan showed up surfing the roof of a very old van that he and his buddies had purchased for a road trip to California. After spending the whole evening laughing we exchanged phone numbers and began dating right away. As cliche as it may sound, we knew after a few short months that we wanted to be together forever. We were married in March of 2008 and have experienced the ups and downs of life, but have enjoyed every minute of it (well almost every minute). Carter joined our family in August of 2012 and we were blessed with Jaxon in August of 2016. They have both brought us so much more joy and happiness than we could have ever wished for. Family is so important to us and we are so lucky to have, in our opinion, the greatest family around.

A Little About Jordan...(Written by Shawnee)

Jordan is the second youngest of 5 boys. He is caring, funny, hardworking, sensitive, giving and loud. The first night I met Jordan he made me laugh to the point of tears and I knew immediately he was someone I had to get to know better.

Jordan is a nurse practitioner and has an incredible work ethic. He learned that from his parents. He is one of the greatest care takers so the medical field is perfect for him. Due to all of his hard work he has made it possible for me to stay at home with Carter and Jaxon full time which I am so grateful for. Jordan is the type of person that will do anything for anyone. You can always count on him.

He has such a giving heart and is such a great example to our boys. He is very playful and you can often find him having light saber fights, playing Super Nintendo, playing hide and go seek or wrestling with Carter and Jaxon. Both of the boys get so excited when he walks through the door after work.

Jordan's hobbies include: collecting toys, motorcycle rides with his brother, traveling to San Diego Comic Con each summer with his brother and cousins, attending BYU football games, and spending time with our family. I am so grateful that I have such an amazing man to raise our family with.

A Little About Shawnee....(Written by Jordan)

Shawnee falls right smack dab in the middle of 3 kids. She has one older sister and one younger brother. Her best friends are her siblings and her mom. Shawnee is the most patient, kind, loving and smokin hot woman I have ever known. I'm reminded each day how much I love her when I come home from work and see her playing with our boys. She loves to be with them and shows her love to them every day.

Shawnee enjoys spending her days with the boys, going to lunch with her family, planning fun parties, browsing Pinterest, trying new recipes, watching The Great British Baking Show and then trying to bake new yummy treats, spending time with friends and reading a good book.

It's always been her dream to be a mom and she is rocking it!

A Little About Carter...

Carter is 6 1/2 and such a smart boy. He is in first grade and loving it. His favorite subject is math and he loves that he gets to eat lunch at school. Carter is such a kind kid and makes friends so quickly. He loves to play with friends every chance he gets. Carter has always loved hot wheel cars ever since he was a baby and he has quite the collection. He loves Star Wars and Santa brought him lots of Star Wars toys this past year. He loves that Jaxon is getting older and can play with him. Carter has taught him the proper way to fight with a light saber and they have "battles" almost daily.

Carter has been an amazing big brother to Jaxon from the first minute he held him. He loves to show him off to all of his friends and is always saying how funny he is. I have a feeling Jaxon has learned how to be so silly by watching Carter. He is always doing something to make us laugh.

Carter loves Halloween & Christmas and the countdown to both holidays usually starts pretty early. He loves to play dress up all year long and has a pretty good collection of costumes now.

Carter loves to swim and has done amazing in his swimming lessons. He also plays baseball and he tried soccer for the first time this past fall. He absolutely loves soccer! He starts a new season in the spring and he can't wait. In the summer you will find Carter riding his bike or scooter outside with friends and eating plenty of popsicles.

We love our Carter boy!
